KOCHI: The state government justified the entrance examination conducted by the Kerala Private Medical College Management Association (KPMCMA) for admission to the MBBS courses in the colleges under it.

Justifying its stand, the government submitted before the Kerala High Court that it would not be in the interest of students to declare the entrance examination illegal.

The state said this in an affidavit filed on Tuesday. The court on Monday had directed the state to file a statement during the hearing of a petition filed by Amina Nahna of Kozhikode against the KPMCMA’s move to conduct their own entrance exam.

However, the state endorsed the authority of  the Admission Supervisory Committee headed by Justice P A Mohammed.
