TIRUVALLA:  Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has stressed the need for development of roads for the achievement of all-round progress of the state.

  Inaugurating the Vallamkulam bridge over Manimala river on the Thiruvalla-Kumbazha road near here on Sunday,  the Chief Minister said that the government has given thrust to the development of roads as part of infrastructure development.   The government has provided adequate budgetary provision for the development of roads across the state,  Chandy said.

He said that the government had sanctioned an additional Rs 800 crore over and above the budgetary allocation for this purpose.  PWD Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju presided over the function. Water Resources Minister P J Joseph delivered the key-note address. Anto Antony  MP,   MLAs K Sivadasan Nair and Mathew T Thomas attended the function.
