“I’m really thrilled at the recognition I have received and have decided to be more selective in accepting roles hereafter. I will give prime importance to serious roles even if they are of five minutes’ duration,” actor Sanusha, who received the special mention of the state film awards jury for her performance in ‘Zachariayude Garbhinikal’ said on Saturday. Sanoop, her younger brother, who won the award for the best child artiste for his performance in the movie ‘Philips and the Monkey Pen,’ said that he would concentrate on both acting and studies.

Unnikuttan, as he is fondly called at home, could not be more eloquent about the award owing to his excitement.

It is a rare fortune and recognition for Annapoorneswari, the house of Sanusha and Sanoop at Podikkundu here. Within a gap of 10 years, two prodigies have brought great honours to their family.

It was in 2004 that Sanusha bagged the award for the best child artiste for her performance in ‘Kazhcha.’

Their parents Santhosh and Usha, who were in a jubilant mood, said that they were extremely thankful to God for bringing great fortune to the house through their children.

Sanusha is a second year BCom student at SN College, Kannur. Sanoop’s has been promoted to Class V at Sreepuram School here.
