On Monday, eminent personalities from all walks of life will attend his funeral, including Yesudas, musician and ONV’s co-traveller in film world

Thousands Pay Homage to ONV  

T’Puram: Thousands paid homage to beloved poet ONV Kurup at VJT hall on Sunday. People from various walks of life - politics, movie and literary world - formed long queues for a final glimpse of the poet. The funeral of ONV will take place at 10 am on Monday at Shanthi Kavadam.

Russia Condoles ONV’s Death  

T’Puram: Russia on Sunday condoled the death of poet O N V Kurup, saying that India has lost one of her outstanding sons.  In a message to the poet’s wife P P Sarojini, the Russian Ambassador to India, Alexander M Kadakin, said: “India has lost a great poet, prominent writer.”

Kollam: Despite being a Left sympathiser to the core, poet O N V Kurup was also religious and used to visit a Krishna temple frequently at his native place at Chavara. He had an emotional attachment to his ancestral house as it was here he had penned the lyrics for KPAC’s drama ‘Ningalenne Communistakki.’
