KOCHI: Actor Antony Varghese has said that he cannot tolerate what director Jude Anthany Joseph said about his family. The actor was addressing the media in Kochi on Thursday.

“I still consider him as an elder brother. But I cannot tolerate what he has said about my family, especially my sister. It has hurt me and brought shame to our entire family,” the 33-year-old actor said, adding that his family has decided to move legally against the director.

“My mother has filed a case against him. He has dragged our whole family and even director Nahas into the issue. It was unnecessary. I cannot share the details of the case right now.

Following the response from the actor, Jude Anthany apologised for his statement. “I called Pepe. I regret what I have said about him. I was not even sure whether he conducted his sister’s marriage with the Rs 10 lakh we gave to him or not. I have seen the struggles of the producer,” he said in an interview.  Also, he apologised to Pepe’s sister and family for the statements he made.

Recently, during a promotional event of Jude’s latest directorial venture ‘2018,’ he alleged that Antony Varghese took an advance of Rs10 lakh from a film’s co-producer for his sister’s wedding and opted out 18 days before the commencement of project. The actor said the marriage was held in January 2018, a year after he returned the money to the producer.
