BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: Orissa students continued to hit it big in CBSE Class X Examination with the toppers notching up 98 per cent-plus scores. The results were announced today.
DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur in the city achieved an all-time record average aggregate of 87.44 per cent secured by its students. It is highest average aggregate by any school of the State.
The State toppers were two DAVians - Ananya Das of DAV Chandrasekharpur and Ayushi Mohapatra of DAV School, Talcher.
Both girls scored 98.4 per cent.
The all-India topper was Parnil Singh, a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya from Visakhapatnam, who secured a whopping 98.8 per cent.
The highest score achieved by an Oriya student in CBSE Class X examinations was in 2006 when Subhankar Mohapatra of DAV School, Chandrasekharpur secured 98.6 per cent to become all- India topper.
The DAV School Chandrasekharpur continued its good work as all 284 students cleared the examination. Of them, 47 students secured 95 per cent and above. At least 145 students (close to 51 per cent) bagged 90 per centplus scores.
While Ananya Das topped the chart, Soham Sinha who secured 98.2 per cent was placed second followed by Asita Samal with 97.8 per cent.
The results of DAV Public School, Unit VIII was excellent too. Scoring 86.2 per cent as average aggregate, at least 150 students secured over 90 per cent. Two students - Rituparna and Manali Madhuchhanda - scored 97.6 per cent to be on top of the school list.
The DAV Public School Talcher which boasted of a joint topper, recorded 100 per cent success rate with all 103 students clearing the test.
The St. Xavier’s High School, Khandagiri, did an excellent job with all 107 students clearing the examination. With a school average of 84.8 per cent marks, it saw Prabeen Ghadia scoring 98.2 per cent, ranked second in the State along with Soham (of DAV School, Chandrasekharpur). Prajakta Ray and Debes Kanungo secured 97.4 per cent and 97 per cent respectively. Forty-two students scored over 90 per cent.
Similarly, Kendriya Vidyalaya No. II had 134 out of 136 students clearing the examination. Pranoy Roy who scored 98 per cent was school topper and placed at third position in the State. Sanjita Swapna Sarita of DAV Public School, Markatnagar in Cuttack was joint third position holder with 98 per cent score. The school which recorded 100 percent pass rate saw 15 students scoring over 95 per cent. Ankit Sahani and Rahul Pasayat secured 97.4 per cent each whereas Soumya Sandip Nayak bagged 97.2 per cent.
At KV No I, of the 267 students who appeared, 64 scored over 94 per cent and Amrit Kumar Panda was school topper with 97.6 per cent. Another city school Prabhujee EM School recorded 100 per cent pass rate with Bibek Nayak securing 96 per cent.
Similarly, Mother’s Public School saw all 76 students securing first class. Thirteen of them scored above 90 per cent. The St Xavier’s High School, Kedargouri, another one to post a 100 per cent result saw 27 students getting over 90 per cent with Pratik Kar as the topper with 95.8 per cent. The school average aggregate was 85.13 per cent.
Sainik School, Bhubaneswar recorded 100 per cent first classes. While 80 of them secured over 80 per cent Ashutosh Kumar secured 97.4 per cent to top the school list.
