PHULBANI:A special team of Phulbani police on Friday arrested a youth of Rajpatana in Nayagarh from Bhubaneswar on charges of sharing nude MMS of a college girl in social media.
The accused, identified as Soumyaranjan Behera, had developed a relationship with the girl while studying in a Phulbani-based college around one and a half years back. One day, he took the girl to an isolated place here and made her senseless by giving her sedative laced drink. Then he recorded the girl in compromise position with him.
Later, the boy proposed to the victim’s parents to marry her. As they turned down the proposal, he shared the MMS on social media.
Victim’s father filed an FIR at Phulbani police station after being informed by his friends about the MMS. Police formed a special team to nab the youth. Kandhamal SP Dr Kanwar Vishal Singh said Behera has been brought to Phulbani town police station and interrogation is on.
Meanwhile, Kandhamal Bar Association president Ajay Singh urged the police for stringent action against the youth and others who are involved in the crime.
