Chief secretary Anu Garg takes stock of CM Majhi’s investors’ meet outcome

Garg said conducive ecosystem should be created for investors to set up units, including land, infrastructure and sector-specific facilities.

BHUBANESWAR: Chief secretary Anu Garg on Tuesday held a high-level meeting to assess the outcome of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s investors’ meets and roadshows held in Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Vadodara by the state government to speed up facilitation measures for launch of the proposed industrial projects.

The chief secretary asked Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) and the Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (IPICOL) to coordinate on investor queries regarding project sites and prepare roadmap for investment.

Official sources said the recent investors’ meet and roadshows in Gujarat and Mumbai generated strong interest in Odisha’s industrial sector. A total of 71 proposals worth Rs 48,330 crore with a potential to create 67,838 jobs were received by the state government.

Besides, eight MoUs worth Rs 11,300 crore were signed and 63 Investment Intention Forms worth Rs 37,030 crore were also received.
