RAMANATHAPURAM: Rithishkumar, MP from Ramanathapuram, was granted conditional bail by the District Sessions Court here on Wednesday. He and seven others were arrested by the Devipattinam Police on Monday for allegedly attacking Narayanan, a Dalit of Andichiyenthal village, over a dispute arising out of renovation of a road at Peechankurichi village.

After they were remanded in judicial custody and detained in Madurai prison, a petition was filed before the district court seeking bail for Ritishkumar.

Justice Balasundara Kumar of the District Sessions Court on Wednesday granted bail on condition that Rithishkumar should not enter Ramanathapuram until further orders. He was also directed to sign at the Tallakulam police station in Madurai at 10 am each day.
