Security beefed up along Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border

All the deputy commissioners of respective divisions in the State police have been instructed to watch out for anti-social elements following Jayalalithaa's death.

BENGALURU: Extensive security measures have been adopted in Karnataka- Tamil Nadu border and some areas in the city following the uncertainty about the condition of Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalalitha.

On Monday about 2,000 policemen including KSRP platoons were deployed across the city. A senior police officer has been directed to observe the situation at the border while policemen have been deployed across the city.

A senior police officer said that city policemen along with Hoysala staff are patrolling the city especially around Sriramapura, Magadi road, Gandi Nagar, Shanthinagar, Ulsoor, Neelasandra and Ejipura  to avoid any untoward incidents.
