AIADMK Councillor, Son Murdered by Gang of 10

SIVAGANGA: An AIADMK councillor and his son were hacked to death by a 10- member-gang at Nattarsankottai near here on Sunday.

According to police the deceased were identified as K Nagarajan (50) of Muvendar Street of Nattarasankottai in Sivaganga taluk who represented ward number 12 and his son Vigneshwaran (22). 

Police said the incident took place when Nagarajan was at his house along with his wife Usha and their daughter M Dhanapriyanka, while Vigneshwaran was taking a shower in the bathroom. A ten-member gang who came in five two-wheelers gained entry into the house. Sensing trouble, Dhanapriyanga rushed out to get help.

In the meantime, the gang started assaulting Nagarajan, seeing this Usha attempted to save him but she was also attacked. She also went out to get help. Hearing his father’s screams, Vigneshwaran rushed to spot and attempted to save Nagarajan but the gang hacked the father-son duo to death and fled the spot.

Superintendent of Police Zia-ul Haque rushed to the spot and formed a special team to nab the gang members Usha who was injured in the assault was rushed to the government hospital.

Source from police department said that they were suspecting the role of two history-sheeters, as Nagarajan was against their entry into the party. The source said that they were investigating in various angles including internal party disputes. Based on a complaint Sivaganga Taulk police registered a case.
