Sasikala assets case: Supreme Court yet to communicate verdict to trial court

The apex court has asked the convicted to appear before the trial court forthwith.

BENGALURU: The verdict of the apex court convicting Sasikala and two others is yet to reach the registrar of the city civil and sessions court in city. The judicial officers are expecting it anytime.

On receiving the communication from the apex court, the registrar will ask the special judge Ashwatha Narayana to pass the order to send the convicted to central prison in Parappana Agrahara in the city, after the convicted appears before the court.

The apex court has asked the convicted to appear before the trial court forthwith.

If the convicted, Sasikala, Sudhakaran and Ilavarasi appear before working hours of the court, the judge will pass an order immediately. Otherwise, they will have to appear before the judge at his residence, sources said.

If Sasikala wants to shift from the prison in Karnataka to Tamil Nadu, she will have to approach High Court by filing an application, after she surrenders before the special judge, sources said.
