KARUR: Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai on Wednesday charged the CBI with acting in favour of the DMK and questioned the trustworthiness of the investigative agency.
Addressing media, Thambidurai accused the DMK of pressurizing the Centre into using CBI against Chief Minister Palaniswami and several of his cabinet colleagues. “Stalin said Modi was AIADMK’s ring master. Now I say Amit Shah is DMK’s ring master. This I can prove soon,” he challenged. Earlier CBI used to be called Congress Bureau of Investigation, but now it has become Centre of BJP Investigation, he said.
Thambidurai asserted that the AIADMK government would complete its term. “The High Court verdict in the MLAs disqualification case will not affect the government. One of the disqualified MLAs has already confessed that they would not pull the government down,” he said.
