Vyapam scam whistle-blower Anand Roy joins BRS

The BRS chief welcomed the leaders into the party by offering them pink scarves.

HYDERABAD: Social activist from Madhya Pradesh and Vyapam scam whistle-blower Anand Roy joined the BRS in the presence of party president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here on Wednesday. Anand Roy, a prominent RTI and tribal rights activist has strong support among the people of Madhya Pradesh.

Meanwhile, MP-based prominent tribal rights organisation Jai Adivasi Yuvashakti Sangathan (JAYS) declared its support to the BRS. Anand Roy was also a key leader of the JAYS. 

JAYS president Lal Singh Burman and its other representatives Pancham Bheel, Ashwin Dube, Gaziram Badole and Kailash Rana also joined the BRS.

Lauding the welfare and development programmes being implemented by KCR’s government for the benefit of SCs, STs, BCs and minority communities, JAYS founder Vikram Achalia said that his organisation has decided to support the BRS supremo for making efforts to bring a qualitative change in the country.

“The aspirations of the poor, backward classes, Dalits and Adivasis have not been fulfilled in the  75 years of Independent India. The BRS is growing as an alternative political platform in the country,” he said. 
JAYS national president Lokesh Muzalda, Women’s wing in-charge Seema Vaskale and Madhya Pradesh president Ramdev Kakodia were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, several former MLAs, BJP and Shiv Sena leaders, noted personalities from different social organisations met Rao at Pragathi Bhavan and expressed their readiness to work with BRS in Maharashtra. The BRS chief welcomed the leaders into the party by offering them pink scarves.

‘Give water & power’

Addressing the newly inducted party members, the CM said: “The Centre need not bring moon or stars and give them to the people. At least, provide them water and power. Chand, sitaro chodo .. paani, bijli jodo.”
He also said that India would lead the world if the available natural resources were utilised to the optimum.
