A rousing reception was accorded to BJP national chief Amit Shah who arrived in Kavarati on Tuesday.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A rousing reception was accorded to BJP national chief Amit Shah who arrived in Kavarati on Tuesday.   The visit to the islands was as part of his 125-day-long all-India  tour to prepare the party cadre for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls scheduled to be held in 2019.

After landing at Agathi at 11 am, he went to Kavarati by helicopter. There he was received by state president K P Muthukoya, former state president P P Muthukoya. Hundreds of people, including children and senior citizens, came to receive Shah. 

Later he attended a booth level convention and state core committee meeting and addressed  a public meeting.  In the next two days Shah will attend programmes in Androth island. which include booth level workers convention and house visits.  It is for the first time that a BJP national president is visiting Lakshadweep.
