HYDERABAD: In the light of impeachment proceedings moved against him by 61 MPs in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, Justice CV Nagarjuna Reddy is learnt to have decided to stay away from his official duties voluntarily till proving his innocence on the issue of alleged atrocity against a Dalit judicial officer.
In this regard, he is learnt to have addressed letters to the Chief Justice of India, Acting Chief Justice of Hyderabad High Court and the state Governor requesting them to allow him to go on leave from Wednesday till the issue reaches logical conclusion. The judge, in his letter, while seeking permission to go on leave voluntarily has expressed faith on judiciary and democratic system, sources said.
