Two police stations that Alluri raided to be made memorials

KAKINADA : The two police stations, which were raided by freedom fighter ’Manyam Veerudu Alluri Sitaramaraju, at Addateegala and Rajaommangi will be soon developed as memorials of the Indian revolutionary.
District superintendent of Police M Raviprakash told media persons here on Monday that the two police stations will soon get their old look (of the 1920s) and will be developed as memorial sites of Alluri.


“Alluri Sitaramaraju and his followers raided the police stations at Rajavommangi and Addateegala, stole the guns and ammunition, and killed the British army officers. With reference to these incidents, all the available evidences along with Alluri’s belongings, photographs and historical documents will be kept at these police stations.
The atmosphere that resembled the British rule and Alluri’s attacks will be recreated here,” the SP explained, adding that the Rajavommangi police station will be soon inaugurated and kept open for the public.


In this regard, Alluri Sitaramaraju Yuvajana Seva Sangham state leaders Padala Veerabhadra Rao, D Sattibabu, M Ravi Prakash and B Srinu met the SP at his office on Monday and presented a life-size portrait of Alluri, for installation at the Alluri memorial police station at Rajavommangi.
