VISAKHAPATNAM: On the last day for receiving complaints from the political parties, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is probing the land irregularities in Vizag has received a complaint against HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao with specific allegations. The complaint was made by former District Library Committee chairman Thota Nagesh. He later came to the SIT office at the Yeluru Project guest house on Thursday and submitted his complaint with documentary evidences.

Later speaking to the media, he alleged that  Ganta’s Pratyusha shipping company had been enjoying the government land for years now, though the land was not used for the intended purpose. “The District Library Committee building land which is estimated to cost approximately Rs 50 crore was ceded to the Pratyusha company on a 33-year lease. But the company has not constructed any structures as per the lease agreement and the government  cancelled the agreement.

But the company did not surrender the site to the government and still it is in the possession of the Pratyusha company in defiance of the government orders. Hence I submitted a complaint with related documentary evidence to the SIT officials and requested them for a comprehensive probe into the issue,” said Thota Nagesh.

Surprisingly, the former DCC president has joined Telugu Desam Party and now making allegations against Cabinet minister.Meanwhile, the SIT officials have accelerated the pace of investigation, while SIT member and joint collector G Srijana is very serious about the land irregularities since she found  discrepancies earlier in the updation of the webland data.
