Student dies while trying to escape monkey attack

A 17-year-old student died at Pamuru in Prakasam district on Saturday while trying to escape a monkey attack.

ONGOLE: A 17-year-old student died at Pamuru in Prakasam district on Saturday while trying to escape a monkey attack.Bandaru Venkatesh, a resident of Chandrasekharapuram, was studying Intermediate second year at Government Junior college in Pamuru.According to sources, during lunch break, Venkatesh was having snacks in his classroom. At that time, a monkey which was loitering around the college premises, began to attack Venkatesh.

In a bid to escape the attack, he started running and fell on the bench. Venkatesh received grievous head injury and was immediately rushed to a private hospital. He was declared brought dead. His body was later shifted to government hospital for post-mortem.On receipt of information, the parents and relatives of Venkatesh rushed to the hospital. Venkatesh’s father wept inconsolably and blamed the negligence of college management for the death of his son. Pamuru police registered a case and took up investigation.
