NEW DELHI: The market potential for green products, materials and technologies in India is pegged at rs 18,00,000 crore, said CII Green Products and Services Council chairman Parasu Raman R on Thursday.

India has more than 4,500 projects that have adopted the green concept. With the building footprint spanning over 5.2 bn sq ft, the market for green buildings, products and technologies is set to further grow, creating new opportunities.

To cater this growing market, CII has launched Green- Pro- Green Product Certification, a first-of–its- kind Eco label for building products in India. So far, 350 products used for various purposes and stages in construction and maintenance of buildings have got eco-label, Raman added.
