BANGALORE: Indian Institute of Management- Bangalore (IIM-B) is planning to introduce Bhagavad Gita as part of its syllabus. With this, they will be chanting the ‘ancient times in modern days’ mantra.

Speaking at a seminar on ‘Towards a New Paradigm of Business Management - Alternative Perspectives from Ancient Indian Wisdom’, jointly organised by Yugayatri, an organisation for promotion of Indian culture and Heritage, and Bangalore Chamber of Industries and Commerce (BCIC) at IIM-B on Saturday, Prof B Mahadeva, dean (administration) of IIM-B, said that they were collecting opinions from from an expert regarding this.

Prof Mahadeva said that though they already had some key aspects of ancient wisdom in the syllabus, this was for the first time that they would be introducing the Gita. But the same would take some time. He said that ancient wisdom was still relevant in modern times, more so in management.

Dr Shamsundar of Yugayatri said India’s ancient wisdom could show business management in a new paradigm. “Yugayatri is working to implement and educate organisations on Indian culture and heritage,” he said.
