BANGALORE:  “I promise you that I will continue cartooning as my hobby, in spite of working as a politician,” said noted cartoonist and MP of Chitradurga, Janardhana Swamy, at the inauguration of an exhibition of his works at the Indian Cartoon Gallery on MG Road on Saturday.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Shivamurthy Swamiji, Sri Taralabalu Jagadguru Brihanmath, Sirigere, Karnataka. Shivamurthy Swamiji said, “I know how he (Janardhana Swamy) faced severe problems in getting a ticket for the Lok Sabha elections. Now, when he has won the elections, it has become his moral duty to continue his hobby of cartooning.” VG Narendra, managing trustee of the Indian Institute of Cartoonists (IIC), said, “I am very happy to organise the cartoon exhibition of Mr Swamy. With the help of IIC, we are encouraging upcoming and professional cartoonists. ” Vishweshwar Bhat, chief editor, Vijaya Karnataka, D H Shankar Murthy, vice chairman of State Planning Commission and R Ashok, Transport Minister, were present.
