BANGALORE: Director Om Sai Prakash and Shivarajkumar’s pair is best known for making sentimental films. Their films - Thavarige Baa Thangi (2002) and Anna Thangi (2005) - were huge successed at the box office. The USP of both was Radhika, who has stayed away from films for the past two years. The compatibility between between Shivarajkumar and Radhika was so perfect that they looked like real-life siblings. But subsequently, the actress opted out of films.

Now, Prakash has roped in versatile Malayalam actress Meera Jasmine to act as Shivarajkumar’s sister in the forthcoming film Devaru Kotta Thangi. Both Prakash and Shivarajkumar are in desperate need of a success. Their other film Bhagyada Balegaara has not done well.

Recently, the audio launch of Devaru Kotta Thangi was organised at Sri Gowri Kalayana Mantapa. A group of women rendered Lalitha Sahasranama before the audio release.

Prakash also arranged a cradle decorated with flowers for the occasion. He brought the two boxes that contain audio cassettes and CDs of the film to the venue with mangalavaadhyam.

Veteran character artistes Hema Chaudhary and Sumithra received two boxes and put them in the cradle. The function looked like a naming ceremony of an infant.

Shivarajkumar appeared on stage in costumes that had been used during the shooting. The other added attraction of the function was the presence od Geetaha Shivarajkumar, who helped her husband release the cassettes.

Shivarajkumar said that ‘Devaru Kotta Thangi’ has the all ingredients that are required to make the film a big success. “It will be a big success at par with my earlier films `Thavarige Baa Thangi’ and `Anna Thangi’.

Meera Jasmine has acted well.

Meera and I play a brother-sister duo from a poor family,” Shivarajkumar said. He added that Hamsalekha’s music is a plus point for the film.

Music director Hamsalekha said that Prakash deserves appreciation for organising this audio function in a unique method. Malayalam actress Monica, Rekha, Sangeetha, Avinash and other artistes were present on the occasion.
