Rayara Aradhana to begin

Every year after the Panchanga, the Hindu Calendar, is released many flip through the pages to check about Raghavendra Swamy Aradhana. The Aradhana is usually celebrated for three days with great fervour and enthusiasm in the city. This year, the 341st Aradhana Mahotsava of Raghavendra Swamy will begin from tomorrow with Poorva Aradhana. Madhya Aradhana and Uttara Aradhana will be held on August 4 and August 5 respectively.

 Many in the city have plans to attend Aradhana in different parts of the city and in the country. Speaking about her plans, Sharadha Gopalakrishna said, “This is the first time, I am visiting Markeyankottai which is located near Tamil Nadu. It makes a great difference to visit such temples amidst our daily routine.” Raghavendra Swamy was a spiritual leader, saint and philospher, whose endeavour was to spread peace and harmony among people. Aradhana is celebrated in remembrance of his contribution to the society especially by his followers and devotees. Aradhana is celebrated every year during Shravan Masa (as according to Hindu Calendar). This festival is to honor Raghavendra Swamy and also to seek his blessing. During this three-day festival, delicious and sumptuous prasadam is offered across Raghavendra Swamy temples and mutts.
