Guru Nanak Matriculation Higher Secondary School celebrated the 67th Independence Day. Chief guest Sardar Jasbir Singh Narula, vice president of Guru Nanak College, unfurled the tricolour and delivered a speech to motivate the students.
The chief guest in his speech said the students, who were the future citizens of India, must be well educated, work hard and take part in all social activities in order to make India the best country in the world.
He congratulated the staff members for the achievement of centum result in the Classes 10 and 12 board exams. He said that students were the pillars of the nation and were going to shine globally in science and technology due to the vast development of their knowledge. They would be physically strong by using the vast playground facilities. The school environment and the infrastructure of the Guru Gobind Singh block have been designed to reveal the hidden talent of students, he said.
The chief guest distributed prizes to the participants. This was followed by a colourful cultural programme by the school students.
