Labourer kills supervisor, arrested

Police on Wednesday arrested a 20-year-old labourer, who stabbed his supervisor to death, at Indira Priyadarshini Nagar in Rajagopal Nagar near Peenya.

The accused has been identified as Babu Karmakar and the victim Suresh Karmakar, (33). The duo hail from Assam and work with L&T sanitary work construction under the BWSSB.

The police said the incident took place on Monday night when the duos was having dinner in a shed.

They had a heated argument over an issue relating to Babu’s salary following which Suresh tried to assault Babu, who is also said to be his relative.

Meanwhile, other workers intervened and sent Babu away from the spot.

After a while, Babu came back with a knife and stabbed Suresh’s stomach in front of his co-workers.

He was rushed to Victoria Hospital where he succumbed to injuries on Tuesday morning.

Babu has been remanded to judicial custody.
