A 28-year-old priest died after he came under the wheels of a moving train at the city railway station on Saturday.
The incident occurred at 9.15 am when he tried to get down from the moving Mysore-Bangalore passenger train at Platform No 10 with his luggage.
The deceased, Srikanth, a resident of Raghavendra Colony in Chamarajpet, was returning to the city from Srirangapatna. He lost balance while getting down and came under the wheels. He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot, the police said.
The City Railway police have registered a case in this connection and are investigating.
