State 2nd in CBSE class XII results

Karnataka has bagged the second place in the Class XII results announced by the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday.

In the Chennai region, Karnataka secured 97.43 overall pass percent, second to Goa, with an overall pass percentage of 98.87.

As many as 6,544 students from Karnataka appeared for the board exams held in March. As many as 3,602 boys and 2,774 girls cleared the examinations.

 Meanwhile, the Karnataka Examination Authority will compile the results of the CBSE Class XII results as well before announcing the final rank list.

Yashika Hooda, a Class XII student from Army Public School, secured 96.2 percent in Humanities in the CBSE Class XII examinations. Says an excited Yashika, “The results were a total surprise. I had performed well, but did not expect to get more than 95 per cent. I did daily revisions and studied throughout the year. I want to become a teacher and will take up psychology as my specialisation in my graduate studies.”

Akriti Kulshrestha secured 97.2 per cent and missed a centum in Maths by just one mark. “I want to pursue BE and have appeared for Common Entrance Test (CET) and have been shortlisted for Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced ) scheduled for June 2.”

Akriti, who is also a student from the Army Public School, said she did not go to any coaching centres.

“My preparations were planned and I concentrated only on board examinations instead of entrance tests. My rigorous preparation started from the second half of the academic year and I studied for 8-10 hours a day,” she added.
