Express News Service

Owner of S R Valley resort Sampangiramaiah and his son Chandru were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the semi-nude dance party allegedly held at the resort.

Addressing a press conference, Bangalore Rural SP D Prakash said, “The organiser of the party, brokers Manjunath, Shivanna and resort manager Govardhan are absconding. We have information about their hideouts and they will be arrested soon. We have formed three special teams and they will visit Kurnool, Bangalore and other places in search of the accused.”

“We have also arrested the women who are involved in this act. Bangalore Rural Additional SP  Nagaraj is investigating the case and we will submit a report soon and serious action will be taken against all the persons involved in this obscene party,” he added.

He said the police have brought the incident to the notice of the Tourism Department and have  suggested it to close down the resort.

Sampangiramaiah, in his statement, has stated that, on October 9, 2009, JVL Agro Chemicals company from Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh) had booked the resort for a day and a night, 60 to 70 men attended the party and eight women were involved in obscene dance. “After that, no such parties were organised in the resort. Some unknown persons used to call and threaten us demanding money or they will kill us, so I registered a complaint on November 9, 2011 in this regard,” he has said.

The then Sub-inspector Siddalingappa, who is now a Circle Inspector in KGF, has been suspended on the charges of not taking any action on this complaint. He had given a complaint receipt, but did not lodge any FIR. He did not even brought the issue to the notice of higher officials, said IGP (Central Division) Amar Kumar Pande.
