Woman injured as tree falls on 2-wheeler

A 25-year-old woman sustained injuries when a tree fell on her two- wheeler when she was going near the Tennis Association inside the Cubbon Park on Wednesday evening.

The injured has been identified as Chandana, a student with the Sports Authority of India (SAI). She was returning to her hostel after practice from SAI at around 7 pm when the incident occurred.

According to eyewitnesses, Chandana was riding her two-wheeler when the tree came crashing down, pushing Chandana and her two wheeler to the ground.

She was immediately rushed to St Martha’s Hospital and after medication, she was shifted to HOSMAT hospital and was kept in ICI for observation. After the incident, traffic was affected near Cubbon Park. However, traffic police swung into action and cleared the traffic.
