Lions Club Conducts Peace Poster Contest, 170 Students Participate

CHENNAI: Lions Club International organised a Peace Poster Contest on November 27 at WPA Soundarapandian Hr Sec School, Ayanavaram, to stress the importance of peace, tolerance and humanity. The theme of the contest was ‘peace, love and understanding’.

The members of Ayanavaram Nadar Uravinmurai Sangam welcomed chief guest MJF Lion V S B Sundar, District Governor, Dist 324 A1, who presided over the function and distributed prizes to the winners.

More than 170 students from North Chennai participated in the contest. Students of Kamaraj Matriculation Higher Secondary School — S Chandra Babu of Class 8 and M Vaishali of Class 9 — won first and second place, and Anita from Columbus Higher Secondary School won the third place. They were awarded with cash prizes by Lions Club.

Best teacher’s award was given to Dhinakar and Karthikeyan of WPA Soundarapandian Hr Sec School and to Rani S Thaliath, R Karthick Pillai and S Kumaresan of Kamaraj Matriculation Higher Secondary School.
