SBOA School, Junior College Holds Annual Day

CHENNAI: SBOA School and Junior College celebrated its 35th Annual Day on Spetember 4 on the school premises. The school wore a festive look with decorated arches and colourful flags adorning the pathways.

The school band welcomed the chief guest, the Principal and the management, as they took their place on the dais. A Krishnan, president of SBIOA Educational Trust, presided over the function.

Principal P C Selvarani read the annual report highlighting the achievements of the students in academics, sports and cultural events. Chief guest M Rajendran, IAS, director of Agriculture, Govt of Tamil Nadu, spoke on the innovative farming methods used by farmers in Tamil Nadu, with the central theme ‘The International Year of Family Farming’.

In his special address secretary and correspondent D Thomas Fraco Rajdendra Dev envisaged a new world where SBOA students would take their country to greater heights. R Balaji, associate secretary and K Bavanisankar, treasurer, SBIOA Educational Trust, were the guests of honour.

The cultural extravaganza held the audience spellbound. The tiny tots mesmerised the audience with their rendition of the play ‘Hidden Treasure’. Music and song filled the air as the school choir and band played melodious songs.

Roller skating champions glided and twirled in some breathtaking moves. The programme came to an end with the national anthem.
