BENGALURU: Mining Baron and former minister G Janardhan Reddy is likely to be summoned by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with KAS officer’s driver Ramesh’s suicide note.

According to sources, following KAS officer Bheema Nayak’s confession to CID that he helped Janardha Reddy to convert demonetised currency ahead of his daughter’s wedding, the CID is likely to summon Reddy to ascertain his role.

CID sources said, “Based on Ramesh’s suicide note and Bheema Nayak’s confession, we will be questioning Reddy. However, we still need to collect more evidence in this regard.”

Bheema Nayak, who is now in the CID custody, has allegedly named Janardhan Reddy, MP B Sriramulu, a few builders, businessmen, friends and relatives, during interrogation. Nayak was also in constant touch with the people whose names have been mentioned in suicide note, they said.

“We even suspect that a few bank employees might have helped them in the alleged `100 crore money laundering. However, we are yet to establish evidence that `100 crore was exchanged,” they added.
