A survey conducted by IIT-Bombay's student newspaper 'insight' found that 95 percent of students never had sex. However, 30 percent of the students were in a relationship.
Insight chief editor, Shreeyesh Menon said, "The survey aimed to understand the institute's demographic better. It's important so we can see how we're growing as an institute and what demographic we are catering to."
The survey was inspired by the Harvard Crimson freshmen's work and finds that 75 percent of the students are comfortable with the idea of homosexuality.
The survey also looks on their political views, religious beliefs and their lifestyles in general.
18% are atheist, 35% agnostic and the majority 45% believes in god. Nevertheless, 60 percent of them don't believe in religious practises while a 30% minority follows them 'somewhat'.
The study pointed out that, "halfway into the first semester, every respondent was spending 1.6 hours on Facebook every day. The percentage of people not using Facebook at all decreased from 37.7% to 6%."
The study suggests that the students are equally concentrating on studies for an average of 1.4 hours everyday. And 32% ambitiously expect Rs 10-25 lakh annual salary after graduating.
