Bengaluru ATM theft: Driver Dominic arrested

The driver of a van ferrying cash for banks and ATMs who had fled with Rs 1.37 crore from last week on November 23 has been arrested.

BENGALURU: Six days after the driver of a logistics agency fled with a van with Rs 1.37 crore cash collected from banks, he was arrested by Upparpete police on Tuesday morning.

Domnic was working as a driver with Logicash company, a secure transit service provider. According to police, Domnic who spent travelling to different states after the incident was arrested near Tin factory in K R Puram based on a tip off.

However, the police are yet to recover Rs 12 lakh from him. Upparpete police will be producing Domnic before court to take him into police custody for further investigations. On Sunday night, Domnic’s wife Evelyn Mary was arrested in Banaswadi where police recovered Rs 79 lakh cash.

Domnic had robbed Rs 1.37 crore along with the vehicle on Wednesday afternoon while the logistics team was near Bank of India on K G Road. On Thursday morning, the same vehicle was found abandoned near Mount Carmel College in Vasanth Nagar and had left Rs 45 lakh cash and the gunman’s gun in the vehicle.
