BENGALURU: A 27-year-old cab driver committed suicide by hanging at his house, on Tuesday after taking a selfie video alleging harassment from bank officials over a loan.  
The deceased, Anil Kumar, was a resident of Beniganahalli in Byappanahalli. According to police, Anil died after he was sent a notice asking him to repay the loan.

Five years ago, Anil’s father Rajanna had availed a personal loan of `5 lakh from State Bank of Hyderabad. Anil was repaying the loan in instalments. However, he could not repay it on time. Soon, bank officials started visiting his house often. They abused and warned him that his house would be seized and auctioned, police added.   

Depressed, Kumar recorded a selfie video, advising his friends never to fall in the trap of bank loans and to never believe politicians. He then hanged himself from a ceiling fan.The incident came to light around 8.30 pm after his parents saw him hanging.

They rushed him to Chinmaya Mission Hospital, where he was declared brought dead, said a senior police officer.Byappanahalli police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating.
