Chamundi Scouts and Guides Group
This group is situated in the north district of Bengaluru-Malleswaram. Peppered with small buildings, this office in the north district conducts meetings, holds small gatherings and get togethers of the registered guides and scouts.
Bharat Scouts and Guides
Situated in Kondajji Basappa Road, in Shivashankar Circle, is a registered society under Societies
Registrations Act. This is voluntary, non-political and secular in nature. The national headquarters of the Bharat scouts and guides is situated in Delhi.
Bishop Cottons Boys School
Scouting was officially started at this school in Bengaluru in 1909. It was founded by the British and was made available for native Indians only in 1913. Prior to this scouting was made available only to British and foreign scouts. This was where it was founded in India as an overseas branch of the Scout Association and became the member of the World organisation of the Scouts Movement in 1938.
Nandi Durga road This road is to be renamed after
P Deenadayalu Naidu, who was responsible for popularising scouting across the state. This former mayor of the city, in 1955, received the highest honour for a Scout- the Silver Elephant of the Bharat Scouts and Guides. Inspired from Kondajji Basappa, he has also been the state chief commissioner of Bharath Scouts and Guides, Karnataka 1983-1993 and the national commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Delhi from 1992 to 1995.
Kondaji Basappa camp and auditorium
Kondaji Basappa took an active role in promoting scout and Guide Movement in Karnataka. He was the state chief commissioner for 21 years during which he contributed to conducting Jamboree. To revisit his work towards the promotion of scouts, the beautiful scout and guide camp built in Davangere city is a must visit. You could also catch events and shows at the Kondaji Basappa Auditorium in Sampangi Rama Nagar, Bengaluru.
