BENGALURU: Citizen groups across eight wards of Mahadevapura Zone held a meeting with Mayor Sampath Raj and other officials demanding proper functioning of ward committees and an exclusive chief engineer for Mahadevapura that is equivalent to the area of 40 wards and contributes a tax of `540 crore.

The issuance of khatas, 2,065 of which are pending, was one of the main problems. Raj asked Joint Commissioner Vasanthi Amar to suspend a revenue inspector of AECES Layout who had allegedly demanded bribes.

Anjali Saini, member, Whitefield Rising, said, “Considering the size of Mahadevapura zone and its distance from Yelahanka, it is difficult for the current Chief Engineer Parameshwaraiah, to juggle between the two places. We request yo to relieve him from one of the two posts.”
