Iconic Vidyarthi Bhavan to treat soldiers as it turns 75

BENGALURU:  Vidyarthi Bhavan — one of Bengaluru’s iconic restaurants famous for its dosas — will offer free food to active armed force personnel as a celebration of the eatery’s platinum jubilee year.
The restaurant, located in Gandhi Bazaar, completes 75 years of service this year. To celebrate this, an event has been organised on October 26 at Ravindra Kalakshetra. 

A coffee table book will be released to mark the occasion. Employees of the outlet who have served for more than 20 years and some regular customers, will be felicitated at the event.

To honour the restaurant, The Department of Posts in India, will bring out a special postal cover and personalised stamp themed around the restaurant.Dignitaries scheduled to attend the event include Justice M N Venkatachalaiah, Bharat Ratna Professor C N R Rao, poet K S Nissar Ahmed and Founder of Maiyas Group of Companies Sadananda Maiya.
