The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) is organising a one-day tour of famous Perumal temples in and around Chennai on August 2.

In an official release here, TTDC said that the star Tiruvonam, which is considered auspicious for worship of Lord Vishnu, falls on August 2. Devotees throng Perumal temples in large numbers on such occasions.

“The Chief Minister has ordered the TTDC to hold a one-day tour of Perumal temples in deference to the appeals of devotees.”

Accordingly, the TTDC has organised a spiritual tour of seven temples in Chennai. These are the Sri Padalathiri Narasimha Swami Temple in Singaperumal Koil, Sri Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal temple (Tirumalaivaiyavur), Sri Adi Kesava Perumal temple (Sriperumbudur), Sri Veera Raghava Perumal temple (Tiruvallur), Sri Bakthavatsala Perumal (Tirunindravur), Sri Jegannatha Perumal (Tirumazhisai)  and the Sri Varadaraja Perumal (Poonamallee).

The spiritual tour will begin at 6 am from the TTDC premises on Wallajah Road here and end by 9 pm.

The tariff is Rs 500 per head in non-AC coach and Rs 650 per head in the AC coach with guide facility.
