KMC’s cultural fest kicks off

Inter-college cultural event to witness around 200 colleges and around `5 lakh cash prize announced for the winners

A four-day inter – college cultural fest at Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) began here on Wednesday.

Dr Ramakrishnan, Dean, KMC, was the chief guest and inaugurated the cultural fest.  The 28th edition of ‘Pradharshini’, an inter-college cultural program organised by the students of KMC, will see over a thousand participants. This four-day event comprises various competitions that range from rangoli to rock bands.

The organisers said, “We are conducting this cultural program for the 28th year. Around 200 colleges from all streams of education like medical, engineering, arts and management have registered till now. We are expecting more colleges to participate in the following days. The programme has around 40 competitions and the cash prizes are worth `5 lakhs”. The event will end on September 29.
