DGV alumni’s noble gesture

Alumni of the DG Vaishnav College (1983 batch of BSc Physics) have created an Endowment — ‘DGV 1983 Physics Batch Endowment’ of `1,12,500 for awarding scholarships to three needy and deserving Physics students in the first, second and third years in the academic year 2013-2014.

 K Venkatesh, B Chandramouli and S Veeramani handed over the cheque to the Principal Dr S Narasimhan.

Appreciating their concern towards their alma mater and their intention for doing good for their institution, Narasimhan, said that this gesture would inspire the other alumni of the institution to come forward and contribute during the Golden Jubilee Year celebrations of the college in 2014.

The institution is planning to undertake various projects related to social welfare and host a number of academic activities.
