Another cheating case filed against Bhaskaran

Express News Service

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the city police on Friday filed a fresh cheating case against a yet-to-release film’s lead actor TTV Bhaskaran, who is already in prison in connection with another cheating case.

Sources said that the case was registered following a complaint from Karam Chand (56), a resident of Sowcarpet, who claimed that Bhaskaran duped him of `1.33 crore on the pretext of becoming his partner in real estate business. Karam Chand said that Bhaskaran took money in instalments between 2001 and 2005 claiming that he was investing in real estate in Karam Chand’s name. However, he did not show him any plot of land that he claimed he bought in Karam Chand’s name.

Sources added that the arrest in this case would be recorded through a warrant for which they would move a magistrate court. At present, Bhaskaran is cooling his heels in Puzhal Prison on charges of cheating a Cuddalore woman of `3 lakh offering her a post of a government school teacher.

He was remanded in judicial custody after a day’s custodial interrogation.
