Orissa Art and Crafts Workers Association in Bhubaneshwar has organised a 12-day exhibition of handlooms and handicrafts at Sri Sankara Hall, Alwarpet.

 The exhibition showcases paintings,tribal jewellery, inked salwar kameej sets, dupattas and yardage. The dress materials include cotton finishing, Ghagra Cholli and Kurtas. Apart from this the bed spreads, pillow and cushion covers, terracotta, brass flower vase ,wooden crafts are present.

Appliqué work is  a distinct craft of Orissa which involves cutting of fabric in the shape of flowers, birds, and animals and stitching them on coloured cloth. These works, along with wall hangings, lampshades, door toruna, hand bags, mythological engravings on palm leaf and tussar paintings are on display.

Black and white metal paintings, Rajasthan paintings, brass, Madhubani painting, Ravivarma painting, Rosewood painting, Tanjore painting Rudraksha  and Kashmir dress material are other collections that are at the show.  

The exhibition is on till June 19 from 10 am to 9 pm
