Three youth held for theft

The City Police on Friday arrested three engineering students in connection with a series of laptop and mobile phone thefts reported here.

Sources said two students, who tried to evade a vehicle check on the Chennai-Tiruvallur High Road, were detained after a chase. On intensive grilling the duo spilled the beans on several thefts reported in and around Avadi. The duo also named a third accomplice. The trio — identified as Aravindh (21), Raghu (21) and Srieejith (22) — are students of a private engineering college.
