M A M Ramaswamy elected Madras Race Club chairman

Industrialist M A M Ramaswamy was unanimously elected chairman of the Madras Race Club.

Industrialist M A M Ramaswamy was unanimously elected chairman of the Madras Race Club. He was also elected senior steward of the club while K Balaramadas was elected as his deputy. At the annual general meeting held on Wednesday last, the following have been elected unopposed to the Management Committee: K Ganapathy, A L Murugappan, M A M R Muthiah and A Viswanathan. They will hold office for a period of three years.

The members of the committee of management of Madras Race Club are: Chairman and senior  steward — M A M Ramaswamy, deputy chiarman- K Balarama Das, members - K Ganapathy, R M Lakshmanan, Md Javeed Ghatala, Mohd Yusuf, A L Murugappan, M A M R Muthiah, R Ramakrishnan, P T Ram Kumar, M Rossevelt and A Viswanathan. Tamil Nadu Gvernment appointed Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Md Nasimuddin, Niranjan Mardi and S K Prabakar as members of Madras Race Club as its nominees.

Apart from this, the following members were elected as the Stewards of the club for the season 2013-14. M A M Ramaswamy (senior steward), K Balarama Das, Md Javeed Ghatala, A L Murugappan, M Roosevelt, A Viswanathan. The government nominees on the the committe of management are also the stewards of the club for the seasons 2013-14. Later in the meeting chairman and members were elected for Board of Appeal for the year 2013-14. Chairman: R Ramakrishnan, members: K Ganapathy, R M Lakshmanan, Mohd Yusuf, M A M R Muthiah, P T Ram Kumar.
