CHENNAI: A small time cinema actor and three other pimps, including a close aide of notorious pimp Kannada Prasad, were arrested by the Anti Vice Squad of the city police on Friday, for running a flesh trade racket.
The arrested pimps were identified as actor Ravi Chandran (26), Murugan (33), Mariyappan (34) and Neelakanda Reddy (25).
Murugan joined Kannada Prasad as a driver seven years ago and became his close aide. Through Prasad, Murugan got acquainted with small time actresses. Murugan employed Mariyappan, who would ferry the women by car. Ravi Chandran, another pimp arrested, did minor roles in movies like Maan Karate and 49-0. The pimps lured young women promising them chances on the screen and in soaps.
