Remedial Education Services at All Don Bosco Schools in Chennai

Express News Service

CHENNAI: “Learning must be joyful for holistic education,” said district school education officer S Kannappan at the launch of the remedial education services by Don Bosco Schools, Egmore on Friday. The services will help teachers identify the needs of students with learning difficulties and help by promoting inclusive education. “All teachers must know about learning disabilities as they play a crucial role in integrating children with special needs into a regular classroom set-up. Teachers dealing with such children must observe more and be patient to integrate the children subtly without allowing them to feel any discrimination,” he said. Speaking on the changing communicative boundaries in modern times, Kannappan said children are expressive and they need people around them. Earlier we had grandparents, but with modern families, the children might not get the same environment.” The remedial education service will be provided by CARE institute of behavioural sciences and will be extended to other schools from January.
