CHENNAI: After City Express highlighted the crumbling infrastructure in Pananthope Railway colony, Ayanavaram through the report titled ‘Neglect Makes Pananthope a Hotbed For Crime’ on September 15, some action has been taken by Southern Railway. Residents say work has been started to clean the foul-smelling Ainsley canal by de-silting it,  vegetation is being culled and old condemned buildings have been demolished.  Chennai Corporation begins road laying work in Rajaji Nagar

In another report titled ‘Residents Irked by Apathy of Corporation’ published on October 17, City Express had highlighted the lack of a proper road on Vegavathy Street in South Rajaji Nagar, Villivakkam. Residents said that Corporation officials visited the spot the next day and had initiated work to construct a solid road by laying some truck loads of mud in the area.
