Training programme under Saksham project for operation staff commences

CHENNAI: The Southern Railway has started training operation employees including station masters, traffic inspectors, controllers, guards and pointsmen under the Saksham project.

The special training programme, which aims at enhancing the productivity and efficiency of the staff of the Operation department, was inaugurated recently by Southern Railway Principal Chief Operations Manager S Anantharaman at the Zonal Railway Training Institute, Tiruchy.

In addition to the core features of the job, the staff will be trained in duties and responsibilities associated with the other branch departments too.

Training will be imparted to the staff from 26 centres in the Southern Railway including Zonal Railway Training Institute, Tiruchy, and will cover around 175 section controllers, 118 traffic inspectors and 9,445 other traffic staff.
